A DRTV ad for Children's Society
We were delighted to win the bid for The Children's Society Christmas appeal ad. Collaborating closely with their team, we developed a narrative that authentically portrays the challenges faced by many children on the edge of the UK care system.
Given the sensitivity of the subject, we couldn't film actual children in the system or those aided by the Children's Society. Instead, we went through a casting process and screen tested actors for the role of Angela.
Conveying complex emotions in a short timeframe is no easy feat. Every aspect, from lighting to script, must harmonise to evoke the intended emotions, with performances being paramount.
Even without sound, the visual storytelling works to convey the change narrative. The work needs to resonate emotionally, even amidst potential distractions.
